This Modern Boutique Inn Is Located Right on a Farm Sanctuary—Here’s How to Stay There

If you’ve visited a farm sanctuary and wished you never had to leave, same. Well, good news: When you visit Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in upstate New York, you don’t have to. At its new boutique inn, the 440 rescued residents are right in your backyard.

The Gray Barn is just a little fancier than most barns. Located in High Falls, New York, the modern inn has five different rooms available to book, all named after sanctuary residents. And they’re stunning. Each minimalistic space is filled with plenty of natural light and has a balcony that overlooks the goat pasture, Shawangunk Ridge, and Rondout Creek, a private bathroom, and—maybe the best part—a big picture of the furry resident on the wall, photographed by Sammantha Fisher.

Aside from the individual rooms, there’s also a common area with big floor-to-ceiling windows, a huge patio, and a kitchen area where you’ll be served a homemade vegan breakfast every morning. (Basically a dream come true.) When you’re not relaxing, you can get one-on-one time with the animals. Each stay includes a private tour of the sanctuary, where you’ll be able to connect with the residents on an entirely new level.

If you’re interested in booking a room, each runs $250/night—a small price to pay for being able to spend even more time in an environment you love while directly supporting the sanctuary’s nonprofit rescue, education, and advocacy work. High Falls, here you come.
