The plant-based diet is only growing, and its popularity on Postmates is proof. The company just released its data on the deliveries made over the past year in 4,200 cities across the United States, and one trend in particular really stood out.
According to the stats, there were 385,589 plant-based meat dishes ordered in 2019. That includes menu items from multiple restaurants, but some of the top orders were the Impossible Burger from Burger King and White Castle, the Beyond Meat burger at Carl’s Jr. and Del Taco, and Dunkin’s new Beyond Sausage breakfast sandwich.
Mock meat aside, other plant-based goodies made the trends list, too. Açai and matcha are still super popular, with orders growing 104 percent and 118 percent since 2018, respectively. And the most ordered item of the year? French fries. I mean, you can never say no to fries.
