If you’ve ever tried to hack a vegan meal at Panda Express, you know it’s impossible. Even the seemingly innocent noodle-and-veggie dishes contain animal products. But when thousands of people voiced their desires for vegan options, the restaurant listened.
According to Vegan Outreach, Panda Express—the biggest fast-casual Chinese food chain in the United States—has officially agreed to veganize its Eggplant Tofu and Chow Mein. While both dishes currently contain chicken broth and other animal-based seasonings, they will be served fully vegan at all 2,000 of its locations by the end of February.
Before you order, just be sure to ask an employee if the new changes are in place at that particular restaurant. And if the food is good to go, there’s only one thing left to do: load up and celebrate.
