Matcha is one of those things that totally hits the spot year-round. During the winter months, you can get your fix via a warm, frothy latte. And now that the sun is shining and the temperature is rising, it’s the perfect time to switch things up with a creamy iced version.
Lauren Kirchmaier, the recipe developer behind the plant-based food blog Flora & Vino, recently shared her Iced Almond Matcha Latte—something she says is a “light, refreshing drink to awaken your spring mornings.” Not only is it just the right amount of sweet, but the texture is unlike any other version you’ve had thanks to a secret ingredient: coconut butter.
You only need a few minutes and a handful of ingredients for these iced lattes: high-quality matcha powder, unsweetened almond milk (or your plant milk of choice), raw coconut butter, and pure maple syrup. After blending everything up with a few ice cubes and pouring the final product over ice, you’ll be left with a beverage you won’t be able to stop sipping all season long.
