Over the past couple years, Oatly’s famous oat milk has been increasingly touted as the perfect alt-milk for out-of-this-world lattes, creamy pasta sauces, smoothies, and beyond. So much so that it has single-handedly caused actual oat milk shortages. Now the brand is taking a (delicious) next step into—wait for it—a line of vegan ice cream products.
According to Refinery29, starting this month, seven flavors of oat milk ice cream—including the classic vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry—will be debuting in select locations across New York City, all for $5.99 a pint. Then later this summer, you can find it on shelves at Wegmans, followed by Whole Foods this fall.
This is just the beginning of scoring new Oatly products in the U.S. The company is also releasing more of their international finds—including “oatgurt” (a vegan yogurt), “oat spread” (a vegan cream cheese), and various instant latte mixes—matcha included. Basically, oat milk is about to take over the world…and I’m totally okay with that.
